And so the contest continues today, you just need to leave a comment here and on their Kaisercraft blog and see more layouts. Also something new that you may not know, is they are having 30 days of contests giving away lot's of new releases. This is huge, lot's of winners, and hey I think maybe it would be cool if one of my blogging buddies wins! Good luck. so many chances.
So here are the collections they sent me to work with:
I'd love to know your favourite collection. I find them all to be so different.
So today I am going to show you a mini album stepped out. I won't show all the steps as some are just repetitive, but I'll show you enough that you get the idea.
So begin by breaking out your mini album package. This "beyond the page" project is the tabbed organizer. You can use it for so many things like maybe a day planner. They are so easy to paint. In this case I didn't paint as I knew I would be covering it with the Child's Play collection. So no need.
So I brought out all the fabulous embellishments & stickers that match this paper line.
So I started by covering the cover. The best way I found is to take your favourite adhesive (I used zip Dry & 3L Adhesive runner in this case.) I covered the front and then the easiest way was to either trace the design out and cut it out with scissors OR exacto knife it once adhered.
This is what the front looks like with the paper not cut yet.
Cut out this journaling block out of the pp. keep it in the square if you like, but I am in love with scalloped edges so I tend to always take advantage of them.
On the die cut sheet pop out this fabulous circle.
then I put these cute rub ons down the side.
not sure why I can't get this pic turned. sorry. but then I layered the journaling block, the die cut circle, I put a bit of tissue paper from "The girl's Loft" kit on it and then put my favourite brad in the middle.
So now you can see how everything is just layers on top of layers. I always work from the bottom up so I can see it taking shape as I work.
Here's the next 2 pages:
Now for this next page, I want the edge to stick out past the page and be a feature. So I took the paper and cut out the scallops and then took my crop a dile out and made holes all the way down.
* this is the back side that we won't see anything but the scalloped edge showing from the fron cover.
sorry for this bad pic, It's hard to punch holes and take a pic, but you get the idea.
then adhere. In this case I stuck the scalloped edge out past the album and then it was easy to cut the other side as it was a straight line.
Cut out all the "tags", I want to use them as insert pages in the album so I backed them back to back and glued them together to make them thicker.
Here's the opposite page. again, cover with pp.
Here I just added a subtle paper and distressed the edges.
I added the alphabet stickers but you will see that they aren't quite prominent enough for me, so I did trace around them with a fine tip marker.
pop out 2 more die cuts, layer them and add a rub on. I again traced a few of the elements and doodled along the edge.
covering another page.
again it's sideways! (typepad pros out there, do u know why it turns on its own? I rotated it in my editing program, but sometimes, randomly it changes???)
and of course, I tied all the rings with ribbon. I LOVE ribbon, the more the merrier. LOL!
Ok, see you tomorrow! don't forget to leave a comment. I'd love to see one of you blogging buddies win!
