Today I decided to work on a few photos I found that I hadn't scrapbooked yet. I forgot just how much fun we had taking Ireland to dance. So let's begin creating. I used LOT'S of dies on this page. The bonus is one of the sets has so many in it. Totally worth it to buy! Especially if you are a stamper, card maker. The rough edge flowers are created with many dies out of the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 18PK - Flower Garden & Mini Bouquet set. This does have a corresponding stamp set to use, but today, I wanted just a background of colour, not detail, so I chose not to stamp the flowers.
I still layered them, but really they just added dimension and a pop of bright colours.
The little tiny flowers come from this set. Sizzix Framelits Die Set 16PK - Card Front w/Borders Drop-ins So does the flowers that lined the bottom in a row. I am very bad for not using dies how they are intended to be used. BUT, that's ok. Make a die your own. Have fun with it, love the creative process. I am not a cardmaker, so I tend to think out of the box and how I can use it for scrapbooking.
In some of the row of border flowers, I added rhinestones. The sole purpose of this is for added bling. Just a little sparkle. It breaks up the row a bit.
Now let's talk tags. Tags, tags, tags. Possibly my most favourite type of die. Tags can be used for journaling, titles, to hold photos, really anything. Sometimes, I use them like this. Just as an accent. The reality is- I used scraps just to cut out the top of the tags. I didn't want to add too much bulk to the layout, and it was a great way to use scraps. I used this die Sizzix Bigz Die - Tiny Tabs & Tags.
Wasn't that a fun way to use tags? It is a great way to add colour. If you had private journaling, this is a great way to tuck it in private.
Now let's talk alphabets. You all know my passion for them. They are a staple. This particular die is Sizzix Bigz XL Alphabet Die - Block Talk Lowercase. Simple and elegant.
Now let's talk the last final touches. Banners. I used Sizzix Bigz Die - Banners. I cut a whole bunch of both dies on the set. Then I layered them on top of each other. I adhered the tops and then bent the bottoms up. It just adds depth.
Thanks for looking. Make sure you check back tomorrow for this exact layout done in blues and yellows.
