Sizzix is the bomb! I just adore working for them. This year, what better way to celebrate the holidays and teachers? Give them a gift card in this adorable stocking. This is the link for the die! you will not regret this purchase!!!
There are so many fun ways to decorate for Christmas. I did most of the crafting/decorating with the kids, they really were into it this year. One day a few of the neighborhood kids came over and had fun too. Great times!
This was a fun one with the kids. To make the snowflakes I had saved all our scraps from cutting out snowflakes. Then we inked the negatives all over the bags. The kids LOVED this one. They couldn't go wrong. There was no "right" way to do it.
Place the negative ON the paper bag. To get this negative, I had used the snowflake die Sizzix Bigz L Die - Stacked Snowflakes. It is my FAVOURITE snowflake die!!! You get 4 different ones that are beautiful.
Choose your favourite ink. I used a medium coloured blue. Dab all over the bag. It can be random.
Decorate the recipe card. I know I am giving this as a gift so I wanted it to look pretty. I cut the file tab out of red Core'dinations Glitter cardstock. I had made lot's and lot's of these holly and berries this Christmas. It was kind of our family theme I think on all the presents. ;)
Now write out the recipe. I decorated the bag with a gingerbread man as well. I used this gingerbread man: Sizzix Bigz Die w/Bonus Sizzlits Die - Gingerbread Man& Merry Christmas. This Gingerbread man comes with little dies that make decorations on the gingerbread man. But I didn't use those this time, instead I used a white paint and Kaisercraft rhinestones. Just something different.
Totally a fun project with kids! Thanks for looking!
Let's make some gift card holders! To make these you need the base of a gift card tag die like this one: Sizzix Bigz Die - Envelope & Tag, Mini. To break up the glitter paper, I need a large die that would give enough room to still be able to write who the gift card is going to, so I chose the Sizzix Bigz Die - Hanging Sign. for decoration I used the Holiday Lamp Post. (which i sadly think has been discontinued. I absolutely LOVE the holly leaves on this one. Simply beautiful!)
I cut out the tag out of Core'dinations Colorcore Cardstock- they make such a beautiful giltter paper. I just love it! So I used it for the silver and green.
These little gift card holders come together quite fast. I actually found you could create each one in less than 5 minutes-which in my house is AWESOME~! We needed these kind of things for all the teachers, bus drivers, etc. Sizzix actually makes quite a few little gift card holders if you are looking for different designs. Here's the next one I am going to buy. Sizzix Originals Die - Mini Envelope. It is adorable!
When I am in a hurry I use a glue gun to assemble them, just to do them faster, really. I love using different dies to layered for a different look. I used the Sizzix Bigz Die - Hanging Sign and cut it out of dictionary paper. I only put half on the front. It's light enough to write to & from on.
Bend it over, I adhered it and folded it over.
Now put on some holly & berries on the front for decoration. For the berries I used Kaisercraft pearls, they worked perfect!
Let's check out a tag I made for Christmas. I used this awesome Sizzix lamp post die. Sizzix has soooo many fabulous Christmas dies you can have fun making tags for a long time!
Here's how I arranged my cardstock on the die- just so you don't have lot's of waste.
Here is how I sandwhich them: die, paper, 2 acrylic plates.
Now this is what you should have (I cut an extra green)
I wanted the light to look frosty, so I backed it with a heavy vellum. So I put Glossy Accents on the back and stick a piece of vellum on it.
now trim it.
Here's a tag I made with glimer mist and used die cuts as stencils. Love this huge Tim Holtz die.
I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to raise the lamp post higher. It gives more dimension to the tag.
Start decorating the lamp post! I bend one set of the leaves to make them pop up more.
glue and layer the 2 different green holly leaves.
I love the look of Kaisercraft pearls for the berries.
add finishing touches...
Thanks for checking it out! Keep loking this week to see other tags and gift card holders I made for people for Christmas.
You never know when you are invited to someone's house for supper, or to an occasion where you may take a bottle of wine. So why not be ready?
I made a few of these cute little holiday tags to hang on the bottles.
Start out by cutting out the little spools. They can work as tags , right?Shade it all around the edges with dark brown. It makes them look richer. I love layering lot's of the pine needles in all different colours. Nice effect. I hot glued my pinecones, It was easier than trying to hold them while they dried.
I added some clear Robin's Eggs along the bottom, they made it look like dew on the grass.
I absolutely LOVED making these little tags!!!! My favourite being the pot! I started out cutting the pot out of cardboard, then I embossed them. Once you ink them, they look sooo layered!!!! Love it! You can use whatever type of embossing folders you would like.
I have made these little pots using all kinds of flowers. Right now for Christmas, the Pointsettia plant looks so holday! Of course add glitter, ink and it is complete!
I had so much fun making little wreath tags with the kids! They actually are much easier than they look. These were great for the front of cards, We also put them on white paper to make gift bag tags! Very versatile.
I like to mix and match the colours of the leaves on the wreath. So I cut the wreath out of different colours a few times. Some we inked, some I drew on with marker.
Then to make some pop bend them up and then bend them down. For a finale, add Stickles to make it all sparkly.
Yes my kids still get excited for Santa. They are on that threshhold of knowing he isn't real, but not willing to actually believe that. So we do the yearly tradition of writing to Santa.
What better way to welcome holiday mail than a mailbox? I created 3 Christmas looking ones for the kids.
I decorated them all up with bling and glitter, paint and stickles. They were fun!
