I love scrapbooking our family portraits. I am almost done! It always takes awhile to scrapbook for each of us. (I always do multiple layouts of the same photos, so that Jim & I keep one, and each child gets one. That way when they leave the house, they will have the memories we all created.)
Lately I have been really loving creating layouts that are patterns on patterns. I love how this chevron pattern points to the photo. But what is the "pop" on this layout. For me, most definitely the title and the flowers in the mason jar. Mason jars always seem so homey to me, and we are out in the park. I wanted the look of us picking wildflowers and put them in a jar.
So in order to recreate this you will need Sizzix Bigz Die - Jar #2 , Sizzix Framelits Die Set 18PK - Flower Garden & Mini Bouquet, Sizzix Bigz XL Alphabet Die - Typo Upper and Sizzix Bigz XL Alphabet Die - Typo Lower.
I don't know about you, but I LOVE, like LOVE Sizzix alphabets. I use them in my layouts, as well on my classroom bulletin boards. Just epic!
I started out stamping flowers and die cutting them out. The stems aren't really long enough to show in the base of the jar, so I tucked them towards the top under the lid.I like the metal look so I cut the jar lid out of metal paper.
Check out this font! My goodness I adore it!
I chose pink because it pops off the patterned paper. It is fun! Thanks for looking!
Make sure you check out the Sizzix blog for more inspiration. The designers have been really hitting it out of the park!
