Tell me that you don't feel Halloween when you look at this tag! I dare you!!! There is soothing about yellow, orange and white that always reminds me of those little triangle Halloween candies. Then you see skeletons and black creepy crawly vines, fog. All the elements of spookiness!
I first inked the tag in white, yellow, orange. I forgot to take a picture before I cut it. Then I ran it through a Sizzix embossing folder.
Here's a closeup of the embossed parts.
Run the black ink lightly over top of the embossed parts. If you are too hard, you will make the background also black.
Now take the top part of the tag. I glued some cotton all over it, to look like fog.
Out of black card stock I cut this wicked vine looking thing. I used this AMAZING die- Sizzix Thinlits Die - Twisted Edge. You can see that I only used parts of the black. I am really digging the look of this right now!
Now adhere the bottom part of the tag back onto the top. It kind of looks like a bag with fog coming out of it. Totally an illusion but I dig it!
The tag could be finished but it isn't! Break out some vellum and rip it in a jagged strip. Cut out teeny tiny letters using this die-Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 14PK - Halloween Words: Thin. It is meant to make the words look like this-
but if you are patient, you can use the letters. They are tiny! So be careful you don't lose them like I did on the strip below.
Now place it at an angle across the tag.
Here is the finished product. Of course I drove out to our farm to take this photo. I knew the PERFECT door that it would look GREAT on!
Happy Haunting!
