I don't know why the top right corner looks so purple, bad photo. Yikes. It isn't quite that dark. But I gave the painting away so too late!
I started out spraying all sorts of different colours all over this canvas. I used Glimmer Mist, Art Anthology colorations, a little bit of odds and ends.
Once completely dry- then I used paint to make the stencils pop.
I didn't use it in a solid way, more just dabbing it here and there to get the idea of the stencil.
When it was dry I then embossed 3 hearts around the canvas. I used the white UTEE. I wanted it full of texture.
Then I used the stencils to accent the inside of the hearts.
Add micro beads, doodling. My favourite was to paint around the edges with the Clearsnap Smooch. Love the intensity.
I doodled words with the American Crafts slick writers but outlined a few of them with smooch again.
I cut words out of Sizzix's word play die. My most favourite alpha ever.
I had lots of fun with my projects this month, if you would like to see how I created them drop by Sizzix. Just click on the links above the photo to go to the site. :)
Ever look at Pinterest and sigh? I swear I build and rebuild my dream house over and over. This kitchen today SCREAMED HELLO to me. I have ALWAYS wanted banquet seating. Let's face it, we have lot's of parties, holiday festivities at our house. This is my dream!
or how about this? with my horrendous back problems, I really notice this. This change would be awesome!
well gotta go, watching Tae Kwon Do right now. Just thought I would share a pinch of what I dream about...
Pick your paper, run it through the Sizzix Big Shot.
Then bend al the score marks and get your adhesive ready! I assemble the box part first, then the bottom, then the top just tucks in so you can open and close.
Want to complete a layout very quickly? Let alphabets be the star of the page. I have a favourite alpha set- Sizzix Bigz XL Alphabet Die - Word Play Just always a neat look to the page. I cut a postcard out of a pp. I used it to write the journaling on.
I also drew attention to the photo in a little way-putting arrows pointing to the photo. On the Sizzix Bigz Die - Artful Arrows set, there are so many arrows to choose from.
I LOVE Mondays. My dates with the kids are the best ever. It is only 45-60min long, but in that time we go wherever they want, get a special drink/treat and talk about life. They are so excited that it is just them and not the other kids that I find it is the most informative talk I ever get with them. They want to share all the latest news, what bothers them, just interesting!!! Each kid has their favourite places, so unique.
This week Ireland chose Booster Juice. Sometimes we are just plain old silly. Ireland told me they have been learning about how to express themselves - so we re-enacted some of the emotions (happy, sad, angry, silly, etc)
I knew once I printed these photos off, I was definitely going to use the latest Tim Holtz Sizzix die. Sizzix Bigz Die - Fresh Brewed
I think this i going to be one of my most used dies ever. I have already created a Starbucks layout that I had so much fun with as well. Here's a sneak...
It will be on the sizzix blog on March. 8th. Lot's of fun!
Anyways, let's create this layout. It is an easy one, little paper piecing and the title makes it look busy. First I cut out all the pieces for the booster juice cups.
Then here is the way I created them:
put a yellow band over top of the white cup
add the pink circle
put on the lid and straw behind the cup
to mimic the Booster Juice cups, I added pink stripes.
Next I did a little masking with a vintage Heidi Swapp mask. Love this mask. I look for reasons to use it. :)
place the mask down on the paper
I painted all around it
peel off the mask carefully while still wet
finished!
Here is what it looks like with the mask in the top right hand corner. Now when I put on the matted 8x8 photo (which is a collage of 9 photos) I put it a little closer to the right hand side to allow room on the bottom left for the booster juice cups.
Start layering the title. I used this new alphabet set Sizzix Bigz Alphabet Set 4 Dies - Fresh BlossomsAlphabet They are tall letters, so I knew that they would be a major part of this layout. That was okay with me. I think it still worked.
Also, I overlapped the photo, it helps ground the photo to the page more. By layering the title with yellow and pink, it helps "pop" the title.
Here are the little Booster Juice cups up close. I could have tried to make a logo for the centre of the cups, but I thought these epoxy shapes were much more fun.
Thanks for looking! I loved making this busy layout. Fun and bright. Don't forget to check out the Sizzix blog
