warning: If you don't like selfies- don't look any further.
Well as anyone of you who I am friends with on facebook/instagram-I have loved taking selfies. I admitted last year, that I was almost never in pictures unless it was at an event I was teaching at-even then I cringed at having to be in them or the yearly family photos. Reality- I didn't like seeing myself in pictures. Then the kids commented that they wanted pics with me cause I was never in them, so I made a real solid effort last year. Now I realized, screw it. Hanging and having fun with family & friends was far more important. So I took more selfies this year- like crazy amount of them. In good times, in bad, ones that were embarassing, sad, and happy.
Kids & I started a tradtition of taking a photo in front of every movie poster of the movies we have seen together. We haven't missed a movie yet. LOVE this tradition.
Pips was so sad the day she wasn't allowed to go on the "men/boy ice fishing trip" so we did a photoshoot for St. Patty's Day. We had fun!
us-about to go winter quadding.
It isn't fun until you get everyone you know in the selfies. My bff Jody & I had quite a few good ones. lol
me & the Ry guy!
Pips & I:
This is probably iconic "Leica".
this is sooooo me!
yep- this pretty much sums up how Jim feels about taking selfies.
hanging with an awesome prof!
of course taking photos with Cinderella before her big party. (an FYI- I need to teach my daughter patience. This photo is cropped soooooo tight because I was only in underwear. She WOULD NOT wait 1 min for me to get dressed. EI YI YI.
Riley wanted a photo of us for his phone. But of course! My first born, he is 11. Time is flying too fast.
Best day of the year every time!!! Do NOT care how strange I look-love the outcome.
sunburn from hell. This was with 50 or 60SPF. I burned badly. dumb dumb dumb.
back to my roots. LOVE the farm. Wish I lived on one. Thank heavens mom & dad are close.
swimming. yes we do this almost everyday in summer. can't get enough.
Redneck party dress up- but in all reality, you will see me like this on about 30-40 days a year. Love my hot rollers- they let me be lazy!!!
ride junkies. We love a good thrill!
Just hanging with freckles. I have the most selfies with this kid. He wants pics with me all the time. Maybe since we did so many after his stay in the joint -hospital last year)
So what does a blonde do when her car breaks down and the tow truck says he will be 20 min and turns out to be 3.5hrs? Well first off-sweat to death. First and only time I have ever stripped down to the barest of clothing since I was dying of heat. But then you text your closest friends the goofiest of pics. Yep, my poor friends, they never get nice ones from me-they get these sexy ones.
Car races- we do this as a family. LOVE this time together.
When your daughter wants to dye her hair pink WITH you, then of course you oblige the 6 yr old, after all she did earn her pink hair. Funny how motivating things can be. HAven't had pink hair in 37 years of living. First for everything. Now we redid it for Christmas. It was fun.
We have started spending a lot of time at this dirt bike track. Funny how brave all 3 kids are. I never thought pips would go down it, but she is fearless.
Yes, we see this look often. It is the don't mess with her look or as she told me that day- I am mad at you mom.
Well that was a glimpse into our year of selfies. I am totally binding a book this year. I need something to make me laugh- these do that often.
Oh and just a thought. I always am reading that when people use filters they don't end up looking like themselves. That could be true. But I tell you this, sometimes they fix bad lighting, sometimes they just give a fun look. Here's an example I took for this purpose: the first photo is without filters.
Thanks for sharing in my life.
xoxo
