my kids. well no surprise is it? I came back from CHA and couldn't wait for the hugs to happen. However they were in bed and it almost killed me to go to sleep without waking them. However, my dear mom asked me not too, and I listened. Of course you have to respect your momma. But the next day, waking up to all 3 screaming with delight that I was home was ... THE. BEST. THING. EVER! I am definitely that person that invests 100% into everything I do. I married a fantastic man= I will work Darn hard to grow that relationship to the fullest, I wanted kids that means NOTHING will ever come before them. This applies to everything in my life.
Now today I spent the whole day at the pool. Let me tell you = eye opener. Seriously, to the parents out there that go to the pool to suntan and not watch your kids, I PRAY something never happens to them. I could not believe how many parents were NOT around their small kids today. Seriously???? We had a scare last year with water, and man everytime I step foot near water with the kids, I pray I am on my game to make sure something doesn't happen.
Anyways, off the soapbox, what I was going to share were a few of the photos Melissa took in Regina a few weeks ago. I totally wanted the Urban Grunge Look. So toss on a few European cut suits, a pink frill shirt and off we went to find grungy backgrounds and to let the kids BE KIDS. I want the giggles, the little comedians, the funny faces, whatever we could capture. Really, isn't that the best way to remember life? when your photos reflect life? we are crazy, funny, a family full of hugs and giggles, and toss in a few meltdowns here and there, followed by an abundance of love.
Ireland did have stitches in these photos. I am okay with scrapbooking photos with the stitches in, however I did want to touch up a few in case it ever bothered her in the future to see. So you will see me scrapbooking both in case anyone was wondering.
There is a serious side to this boy. It doesn't come out very often, but when it does, I smile. He is so handsome.
well fabulous bloggers, I simply must go enjoy sleep. I've had a tad too much sun today and I should be cleaning this house (arrgh) and I if I stay up any longer I will crack out all my CHA goodies to get to work and then I definitely won't be sleeping tonight. And tomorrow brings us swimming and great friends coming to play and I want to be relaxed. And also, I have about 40 pages left of my book, I simply must know how it ends.
On that note, If you are a book reader can you please share with me your fave summer reads? I am an incredibly fast reader, and have almost blown through my summer purchases. I need more reads. I read absolutely ANYTHING. Thanks!
Have a fabulous day everyone. Living life to the fullest! I'll share some more pics this week. Also, I have been scrapping up a storm with new stuff so when I can, I will share, otherwise soon you will be able to see my work in The Scrapbook Studio soon to be opening in Saskatoon in August. How exciting!!!! I am working on my new class line up too, totally inspired by the new stuff.
(oh p.s. if you want to see the entire photoart collection of my kiddos, check me out on facebook. I posted them all there. "Leica Forrest") It takes way to long to upload them here.
Came here from the Tattered Angels educator blog because of the awesome dress you created and hung around to read some of your older posts...as a reader, I also read alot and can very highly recommend Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series of books - all seven of them! Start with the first, Outlander and if you are hooked read them in sequence. You can thank me later.

I LOVE your blog, and am a regular!!!! lol, I too am a reader, and Mother, and crafter, etc. etc. etc.!!!! I wanted first to comment on your beautiful photos!!! Your children are too, too precious!!! Second, I just finished a couple of good books - I have an obscure sense of interest when it comes to reading so bear with me lol - one is "Prayers for Sale" light read, feel good book...the other was "Before I go to Sleep" - still not sure how I feel about the ending, but a good read nonetheless!!! Will we be seeing you at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival again this year even though you moved on from CS??? Cheers!

Hey Leica, I am a big reader too - go through phases where I passionately tear through books, then dry spells where I can actually accomplish something else because I am not glued to a book! Some of my favorites recently have been The Help by Kathryn Stockett, Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay, Room by Emma Donogue, The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. All wonderful stories and hard to put down. Oh, and Garden Spells and The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen. The last two are the "lightest" of the bunch but not fluff if you know that I mean. Just very well written stories that pull you in. Happy reading!

Wow, busy, busy lady. Who says summer is for slowing down?? LOL
As for books I just finished two really great ones by Lisa Jackson...Wicked Game and Wicked Lies, could not put them down. And of course anything by Heather Graham is always good.
Enjoy playing with your CHA goodies, I'm completely jealous. The pics I've seen posted show some amazing new stuff coming out. Can't wait to do some shopping. :0)
