well as you know, CHA is a huge venue for retailers & manufacturers to get together showing off the seasons latest releases. It is a huge amount of secrecy leading up to the event, and then WOW, the hits just keep coming.
As an industry designer & educator, I LOVE receiving the boxes before the show full of new product to create with for their booths. It is always such a rush when you walk down the red carpet and see your stuff hanging. So THANK you to all the manufacturers that have given me this rush this year and the past 2 years!!!!
Let's start my review off with Harmonie, a CANADIAN company.. They ROCK!
(all of my layouts I did, I will photograph and show another day) But it was so cool to see the contrast of colours against the dark walls. I really like that their paper lines are very unique then what you see out in the industry. They also have such fun embellishments to work with. Do you have any Harmonie in your stash right now? If you do, break it out and follow their challenge on their site for a chance to win.
the challenge is this:
This month the challenge is proposed by Julie Detlef. For this challenge you must use 3 pictures or more on your layout. Have fun!
My favourite booth of course is Graphic 45. I love when the focus isn't always on layouts. I am such a mixed media person myself, and if you have ever been to my house, you know it is 100% decorated with stuff I have painted or created. LOVE it!!!
I have borrowed photos from their site, cause mine have way too many people in them. (thanks Aimee!)
actually, then I found this amazing link too. It gives a GREAT walkaround the booth.
But definitely the star of the show in this booth was Candy Rosenberg's fairy. This girl has talent and really rocks it out!!!! (I borrowed this off Candy's site too, definitely go check her out!!!)
hmm, whose next? There are WAY too many people that rocked it. I think I have to jump to Bo Bunny. Like I said, the hits keep coming.
Adlib, screams "play with me". It seems so fitting for my kids.
Gabrielle, is soooo delicate. Yumm!
Time piece is WOW WOW WOW to me. I can see I will be using it lot's.
The Bo Bunny booth is always a hopping, they have more lines too, so be sure to go to their site and check them out. The artwork their team did for the show is FANTASTIC!!!!! so you will definitely want to check the blog out for that!
The last booth I will share with you today is Glitz Design. These girls are the epitome of charming, elegant and you just want to stay and visit forever. Everyone knows my love affair for their product, you see it in my classes all year round!
I really love their Love Notes release, but you are going to have to go to their blog to see it... (and you will want to, cause all week they have been running contests for people to try and win their releases!
This afternoon muse I will admit is not my "comfort zone" of colours. HOWEVER, I fell in love with the projects they did in the booth, I LOVED all the accents that matched the paper. By the time I left their booth I was excited to play with it. So sometimes, I find, that you have to look OUTSIDE of your comfort zone to be inspired and be challenged to create art. So I am excited!!!!
Also, I can't wait for the Spring issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine to come out. I had soooooo much fun creating a few projects with their hoopla collection. Can't wait to share...
I want to end today's post on my favourite thing that takes place at CHA. REUNITING with friends. We share common goals and aspirations. We love surrounding ourselves with those people that inspire us. I look forward to CHA twice a year.
This is Liz Hicks, she is so beautiful inside and out! I love that talking to her is such a breath of fresh air. I look forward to Edmonton, we are going to be working together again at Memories Wholesale event. She's the educator of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L,and she is a joy to work for.
You can see how much fun we have at these events...
I think the world of these girls. Cathi & Nathalie. We did share in a lot of giggles and more giggles. and possibly more.
And then a night out with Nathalie only led to more laughs.... Does anyone have pics from that night? or are we only left with memories? Trisha? Birgit? Diane.
Nathalie wore a vintage dress and rocked it! (I stole this from her site, cause I was pathetic on taking pics this year. too much fun I guess.) You simply must check out her blog, she is soooo innovative with the mixed media, you will fall in love. go here.
well see you tomorrow, I am off to Zumba. A much needed class. and then grocery shopping. This mother's cupboard is BARE!
Don't forget to leave a comment today, thurs & Fri. On Monday I will announce all winners.
Good Luck!!!
Tell me what your favourite embellishment is to use when creating a layout.
