yippee. and we are entering my favourite season. totally and in love with Fall. I love the colours, the smells, the harvesting, and now school time.
The kids went back to school. Riley in grade 2, Jager in Kindergarten. Ireland (aka the destroyer) still home with me. But something new, I have put her in daycare on Tues and Thurs afternoons. Out of necessity. I just couldn't keep up with getting everything done in daylight hours. So we'll see how that goes, I am hoping to now have a cleaner house, accomplish more. hmm, we'll see how this goes.
Of course, the first day of school I went and followed the bus home. (just to learn the route of course...well, maybe that is part of it.) I wanted to see if Jager could find his bus, and get on it. Riley was there in his big bro shoes to help his kid bro out. I LOVE riley, he is so kind!!!! Jager was so excited, that he tripped on the last steps and everyone saw him fall. He was so upset because he was embarassed. But Riley put his arm around him and told him it was ok, and then he walked him to the bus. I followed behin dthem with Jag's teacher. We listened to Riley show Jager the bathrooms, the last chance for a water fountain, etc. It ROCKED!
Then one last chance to watch the boys get on the bus, Jag's first time on the way home on the bus!
I got a chance to slip in on the " Think Pink" crop that happened in Saskatoon on the weekend. Wow, it looked amazing! Such a worthy cause. Way to go Lori, for hosting a wonderful success! Then I left in a whirlwind to Alberta to spend a couple days with Jackie & Katharina working on webisodes. They are going to be wicked. So full of techniques!!!!!I'll keep you posted when they start releasing this fall.
Now back in Saskatoon, I am still putting the house back together. The kids were supposed to go out of town for a week the last week of august, so of course I looked at this chance as a time to get ahead. so I prepped the house, repaired walls, in prep for painting them, and making it look presentable again. Armed with 5 buckets of paint, I was prepared to paint for 3 solid days before i left for the Emmy's. I was sooo excited. Then the plans failed. The kids were staying home for those 3 days, and thank my MOM & DAD for helping me out huge and taking the kids to the farm for the time that I was gone, you are So ALWAYS RELIABLE. I LOVE you guys. You are seriously amazing influences to have in the kids lives. Well this change in plans led me to almost have a heart attack. I had booked a full day of appointments Wed. and planned on really getting our house in order before I left. so needless to say, I had to fly to Los Angeles, nothing got painted till I returned, the rooms ripped apart, house in a shambles. Do you know how hard it is to paint a house with 3 kids running around??? Seriously. My worst nightmare. But what's a girl to do? I pretty much have went without sleep and painted all nights, put the kids in all one room to sleep. Of course that was a huge mistake, giggles all night for nights. Thank goodness Jim is so patient with me, he helped and we tackled the job. So now we will steal moments here and there in between my scrapbook teaching, the kids sports, happenings at school and I will finish the task hopefully over this next month. So bear with me, I will show when the job is done. What should've taken 3 days will now take 6-8 weeks. ei yi yi. Oh well.
But the colours are bright and the kids love them, they are excited, they love colour, and why shouldn't kids have bright and funky colours and love them?
What does September hold now? Prep work for classes I am teaching in Calgary & Edmonton. Prep work for Saskatchewan Scraps. I will have lot's to talk about in October. IT is going to be awesome! We have amazing people coming and wow wow wow. I LOVE the goodie bags.
As you all know I took a hiatus from scrapbooking for the summer. Last year I had spent 22 weekends out of province or country teaching, then commitments I made in Saskatchewan, holidays we took. I seriously was never home. Then of course, being the social butterfly, ha lol, I had the most playdates during the week that we have ever had. And secretly, these are my favourite ever. This was a great year for friendships and coffee and playdates. I LOVE life. doesn't it keep getting better and better? This summer we had fun. We went to the beach a ton, we played with friends, we went to the farm, we went on adventures, visited the Forestry farm a few times. I have thousands of pics to now fill my nights scrapbooking. I am excited!!!!!! So the scrapbooking hiatus was needed, cause I needed to spend quality time with my family, but it was the best thing ever, cause now I am really appreciative to kick this scrapping season off with a bang. woohoo. Scrap hard or go home...and scrap some more. hahaha
Yesterday, scrapping with my favourite "bosses" and dear friends, reminded me how much I just truly love this art, this job. I am one lucky lucky girl. I am even luckier to be a part of some major things that are happening this year. Those will be revealed when I can leak them, but know, this is the season for change, for excitement. I am STOKED, and as spending a fabulous night with Hannah, my new word is "Epic". I love that silly girl. And now apparently I have a diary. I have never had one, and that cutie started one on my phone. teehee. Speaking of which, does anyone have the new Samsung Galazy phone. I was on a waiting list forever for it, it is now here. I am in LOVE. I can make video calls. how wicked. see how fast I get sidetracked. yikes.
(I wrote this yesterday) well, I guess I should've go prep the fixins for supper. I am total going out for awesome wife today, cause I made a turkey with fresh carrots and baby potatoes from the garden for no reason. Actually just cause I love Jim and he really has been amazing bearing with me. By the way, my new statement is "If you can survive an IKEA build project, you can survive ANYTHING. LOL. I asked my brother to pick up a few storage units for me when he got back from his Mexican trip in August at IKEA. He has now informed me, he did it for me, cause he loves me, hahaha, but he will never step foot in IKEA ever again. He will spend twice as much money anywhere else. and that was the last trip he will ever do there. so I better darn well enjoy them. I am a lucky girl!!!! and the kids are stoked!!! they think the storage units are "EPIC".
ok, you wouldn't know it, but I just went and answered the door to a brand new UPS dude.
So I introduced myself figuring that obviously we will need to get to know each other since I will see him all the time. No worries though, my other guy just got overloaded with deliveries today, so this kid is helping him out. So this kid is delivering the 2 biggest boxes you have ever seen. uh YUMMM. But wait for it... he drops one, actually the whole bottom falls out from him as he is walking up the stairs. A lifetime supply of red tape runners, loose, from scrapbook Adhesives from 3L start falling everywhere covering my steps, lawn, sidewalk. I start laughing, I should'nt have. he is on the verge of a big freak out. possibly tears. I tell him no worries, I will get my kids to pick them up. No he refuses and says it is his job to do it. so I bend down to help him, on the verge of a full blown meltdown of laughter. after he leaves, that is it, I laugh hard. But that is cool, lucky Saskatchewan Scraps attendees. 3L always spoils you guys!!!! THANKS KERRI, I figured you would enjoy that little laugh.
Well, enough yapping. next time i will break out the pics.
ok, now let's enjoy the year. I think it is going to be ...Epic.
Now, tonight is meet the teacher and see the kids classroom, then we will all have pizza. It should be super fun. the kids are always so excited. can't wait!!!
