12 favourite layouts of 2008

******first off, ran out of time to do this at home, but my friend of 32 years just had the a baby! and he is gorgeous. I love that we all are raising our kids together!!!

ok, so I saw on Kathy's site this idea, it is fabulous. Spend a minute to share your favourite layouts of the year. share your favourite photos of the year. etc.so I will share mine over the next few days.

So I thought that I would pick different layouts, not necessarily my absolute faves, instead, ones that I like to dwell on, because of the memories, or other little things.

this one, I LOVE because of the bond you see between my sister & her little guy. Also, I LOVE the paper.

This one I love the simplicity of. I love the vintage attire in the photos. 

this one, I like the photo of me, especially since I was about to have a baby. I was always my most happiest pregnant, knowing that Jim & I would have another little child in our lives soon. Nothing seemed to matter except taking care of that growing womb. then on the flip side, this is a really girly layout about me that I love! I love the secret journaling, I love the doodles, the flowers. It is fun.

This one below is so simple, but the photo steals the show. Ireland this is your home sweetheart!

Well, this one, again simple simple layout. but I just love Jim so much that this layout makes me giggle, knowing exactly what I was saying to him. Such a wonderful guy! he really is so super fantastic with the kids! it makes me so proud even more! 

this photo is me just before my little sister was born! yes Allison, it is my real hair! LOL! I've always had a head of hair. this layout I enjoy because of the colours, the true letter I wrote to myself. the vow I made to myself on the day I wrote this. 

This apple layout cracks me up. Jager I don't think wanted to eat an apple for over a month! He still occasionally asks if there are worms in the apples. too funny!

this layout I love watching the boys trying skip rocks like JIm showed them. I love how Jager would watch Riley to copy him. I love all the doodling I did on the waves. the little Leica touches on such a simple layout.

this layout, I LOVE the paper. no brainer it totally rocks! but the photo is one from such a great day! great photographer capturing their bond.love the riff raff with a little glimmer mist.

This one just is so full of my style. layer layer layer. love mixing pp. I took this photo of Jager jumping on the trampoline. He was so happy.

This was my first digital hybrid layout ever, and still to this date. I had a blast with it! Fabulous!!!!! I WILL try it again. I just need more instruction!

This one, simple, but for me it is the last time I will become a mommy again. And to end in a surprise of a little girl. what a present.

It's funny when you look at your layouts because for me sometimes I love the layouts because of the photos on it, then sometimes I LOVE it because my scrapbook skills surprise me sometimes. I enjoy a good art, especially a new skill.

 

I don't know why they turn sometimes, but I had a laugh at this one. look at our little girls butt crack! see even on babies those low rise jeans can't hide the ASSets. yikes!

okay, we had a crazy amount of entries over the weekend. Fabulous. Had quite a few emails about not being able to attend  all day Saturday, only Fri, can I still attend the Saturday classes? The answer is yes! Of course. Same applies to fri. we realize that we had to do something as the classes aren't all offered on both days.

Okay,here's a few more details about the event:

we have vendors again local and traveling from all over! Yesterday's Memories, Scrapbooking Fanatics, Stampin up from Alberta. Jackie said she is going to do a page layout contest where SHE will be the judge, so there will be more about that to follow. We are trying to come up with more unique contests, so will keep you posted as that takes place.So over the next month we will tell you all about what's in store.

okay, tomorrow is the big day...

registration for the crop. And I have a huge little bite of exciting news.We have another amazing teacher coming to do a special card class.

-Heather Starosielski creative director for Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. So we are going to have a lot of the magazine gang here to socialize with! 4 of us!!!!!! and we'd sooooo love to see your work, it will be totally fabby!

So I will get her bio, pic & class photo up ASAP. Otherwise, her card class is already on the form.

time is flying by:

I am counting down days, hours, minutes, till we leave. my brother is getting married in just a short time. WOW! my baby brother I'm sooooo excited! Trying to tie up last minute loose ends, new sponsors have come aboard for the cruise, organizing those details. Running out of time. all I have to say is...thank goodness we are completely packed! no worry there! I'm trying to get everything done BEFORE the weekend. Friday I have splurge and I actually need to get a lot of scrapbooking done. seriously. need. to. catch. up. or at least see some progress. Then all day Saturday is Andrea's shower, the stagette, than  we leave aftet that. so this has been my agenda. I have prepared blog posts showing some of my latest work so you can have some eye candy while I am gone. 

So today, kids were all up before 5. Jim had put everyone to bed at 7pm with him when I was teaching my class. Wow, I am not a morning person. I swear that I could've fallen asleep on the treadmill today! but that probably would've been nasty. see sidetracked already, the other day, I gave the kids cool, funky hairdos for our trip. then today... was the day all moms dread...can you guess???

yep, Riley decided to give Jager a haircut & himself. Now where was I??? I was in my bedroom talking to Jim, while they were supposed to be styling their hair for school in our bathroom. yep. those eyebrow trimmers can do some serious damage, like right to the scalp. So now, my sweet.adorable.boys are SKINHEADS! yep, the remedy to fix the damage was only Shaving their heads, no way around it. Okay, being a hairdresser in some other life, I LOVE playing with their hair, always doing funky little styles, teaching them their grooming. so I am mourning their beautiful locks right now. Oh well, it's just hair.

at least they will feel cool in Hawaii. hair can be hot you know. Of course I know, I have 20 pounds of it!!! but sometimes that doesn't matter...

is all I have to say.

I had such a wonderful day, spent fabulous time at the gym reminiscing with old friends & new friends. Everyone is joining that it has been a blast going to work out. Today I ran into a guy I used to party with in highschool, haven't seen for 14 years, fun, played catch up, a wonderful charming lady I used to work with, a splurge friend who helped me burn 350 quick calories on the treadmill just by talking & Oprah walking (love that!), 2 ladies I used to take paint lessons from, a mom of a child that used to attend Montessori with my kids, my next door neighbor, I'm forgetting someone but it was so much fun. I was at the gym for 3+ hours. And I came home totally rejeuvenated! I realized that I do work out harder when I am talking to people. I do the treadmill way better while visiting. The time goes by soooo fast!

Well, that is all I feel like talking about today. weird hey. I had one momentary yucky part today, but since I am a happy person and LOVES life, I wiped myself clean of thinking of anything negative and really didn't want to be influenced by negativity. Truthfully, who has time to be negative? I have too many things in my life to worry about, and when you are negative, you bring others down & yourself. So let's all sing the happy song! LOL! I know for the 98% of people out there that truly get me, you are probably thinking, OMG that girl cannot possibly get any happier. not possible. . . oh and then I realize I forgot to tell you I have a new baby cousin! He is brand new & tiny, and living way too far away! Can't wait to see you baby Keyton. See, a baby can always put a smile on your face.

OHHHHHH, one quick note, I am almost caught up to the emails sent over Christmas. I only have 2 pages left to respond to, so if you haven't heard from me give me a couple more days.

so this is the first year that I was asked to go to CHA, however due to the fact that I am already out of the country I can't go. yup, all you scrapbookers know what I am thinking. but then again, hawaii is going to be great so instead I will look forward to the CHA summer. but can you believe it...Paris Hilton is going to be at CHA releasing her new scrapbook line. Now isn't that something to ponder about??? I hope someone gets a picture with her, Chantel I could so see you posing and scrapping about it! Dare you!

also... if you enjoy a good, slightly perverted laugh. and I do mean you will laugh and laugh. if you don't then yes maybe I am sick. but I will continue to laugh AND feel sad for this poor man, but I will laugh more...

Okay, do I have your attention now???? Seriously was this food yummy or what? And this isn't even all of it. I know we have been blessed growing up with a mom that can cook this fabulous! Everyone at our family occasions looks forward to her cooking. So here we were having a conversation about the food for this event. Mom always likes to try different foods for the events so people can get new stuff. 

So brainstorming food for the March event. We've had quite a few request for soup & salad (actually some of the exact same salads cause they were such a hit) so mom thought, sure she could make soups, but which ones??? What kind of soups would people want to see?

Do you have an opinion, maybe you can't come to the event but have that fabulous soup or salad recipe. Let us know. Andrea brought a broccoli salad to Christmas this year and OMG it is super! So we think we might have to scoop that recipe from year.

So that is our big question this time, what should we have for lunch???

Anyways, registration doesn't begin for the March event till January 16th. If you already prepaid in October, we still would ask that you still fill your information out online, as there will be options for classes, and an area for you to put suggestions for what you'd like for goody bags. 

I will have a link from this site to the registering. It will hopefully be easy.

Okay, off to get something accomplished off my long long list of things to do. don't forget to go to the cruise blog, we are offering contests that anyone can try to win.

I have wooden decorative designs for Janet Weser & Carrie Hamm, girls please call soon to pick these up. I leave in just over a week, then I am gone till February, then I am only home for 2 weeks and am gone till March. So I'd love to see you guys have them to decorate.

On that note, if you bought Wooden Decorative Designs from LauraLee in October, I would lovelovelove to post pictures of what you created with them
